Advertise Online with Pixel Ads

Thursday, August 4th, 2011

In this day and age, the Internet is becoming a tool for billions of people from all corners of the globe to find all of the information that they need. With the incredibly large number of people who are constantly surfing the Internet, most companies are now looking to advertise their products or web sites over the Internet. Unlike traditional advertising, the Internet allows advertisers to pinpoint their ads so that they are reaching their target market and will generate traffic to their web site and buzz about their product.

With the convenience of search engines, the vast majority of those who surf the web use them to find what they are looking for. (Approximately 90% of all web surfers use them) Hence, many webmasters and companies focus on SEO or search engine optimisation to get their web sites promoted to the top of the search engine listings so that they can reach a wider audience and generate more traffic. One way to get higher search engine rankings is to get a lot of quality back links and to have high link popularity (number of back links).

Pixel advertising is one of the best ways to advertise online and get links to your web site. It is an idea that had caught on with sites such as the million dollar homepage and dozens of others that sell thousands and even millions of dollars worth of links and provide value to their advertisers. Sure they can get expensive at a rate of £1 a pixel or £100 for 100 pixels, usually the minimum amount that can be bought, but it is well worth the price if you have the budget. Pixels purchased on a popular site can do wonders in terms of getting traffic to your web site and expanding the reach of your product.

For those of you who still do not understand what pixel advertising is, here is a quick guide: There are some web sites that are simply a home page with 1 million or more pixels of open space. Advertisers can buy a pixel at a rate of £1 a piece, but due to the small size of a pixel, the minimum purchase size is usually 100 pixels or £100. You can buy as many as you would like and what each purchase gets you is a space of the size purchased on the web site’s homepage. With that space, you can put some sort of image that will be a link to your web site. The more people that visit the pixel web site, the more traffic you will get. However, if you purchase 100 pixels out of a million, your advertisement will be very small so many buy thousands or even tens of thousands of pixels if they have the budget to do so, so that they get a bigger advertisement on pixel web sites. Here is an example of a live pixel web site, www.tiredmouse.com

Pixel advertising is truly a unique way to advertise on the Internet, and if done successfully it can help make your web site go viral and become a huge success.

Pixel Advertising Online

Monday, March 7th, 2011

Whether you are checking your email, shopping on a website or just searching for information, online ads are everywhere! A new marketing landscape, the Internet offers a new and cheaper advertising space, as compared to traditional spaces like print, television, radio and outdoor advertising. It’s a revolution of sorts and small and home business owners are making the most of it.

For a home based start up, online Pixel advertising from Tiredmouse is a potent tool that can maximize visibility, drive traffic to the company’s website, up the sales and build a solid brand in the process. Going to an expensive advertising agency to run your campaign would most definitely burn a hole in your pocket. The good news is you don’t have to do that. Just remember to focus on what you want and have a strong dose of imagination; and you’ll be on your way.

Take the guesswork out of online advertising

Online advertising is not a function of elaborate guesswork and a myriad of hits and misses. Like the traditional offline version, online advertising must also follow some basic rules. Know what you want you’re advertising to do, where to get it and what to do with it once you have it.

Pixel Ads ins and outs!

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

It’s true, the pixel advertising phenomenon seems to have reached almost everywhere in Internet Marketing, but what is it that separates the good pixel sites from the, uh… not so good? There are two things that will increase a pixel site’s ability to interest advertisers. The first is traffic, and the second is uniqueness.

Without either of these things, putting your pixel on a pixel site is akin to just sticking up a web page and not telling anybody it’s there. The pixel site owners need to promote their pages heavily in order to bring traffic to their site, and thus, your ads. This can have added benefits for everybody: it increases the alexa rank and page ranking of the pixel site which in itself will help to increase the traffic.

A higher page rank for the site that has YOUR link on it also means better search engine placement for you. Of course, we all want to attract visitors and see lots of “clicks” on our ads, but improving your site’s ranking in the search engines will also increase your visitors, so indirectly, pixel advertising can still be a huge benefit even if you don’t seem to be getting “clicks” on your actual ads. In effect, traffic promotes more traffic, and having links on sites with higher traffic can eventually lead to more traffic for you too.

For advertisers: To make the most of your pixel ad placement, there are some things to keep in mind. Don’t just enter any old description to use as your “hover” or descriptive text. Make sure your description actually includes the keywords that are important to your site. This will help with search engine placement. If you’re considering spending more than just the minimum block amount at a site — you don’t have to place one large ad with only one link. It’s beneficial if you have lots of smaller pixels advertising the same link — creating more backlinks for your site. And they don’t have to be next to each other; they could be placed diagonally or with different images or carefully crafted to appear like a continuing image, whilst actually having a number of separate images and separate links.

Affordable but Effective Advertising

Monday, February 21st, 2011

In recent years there has been a massive drive in the business world to save on human costs by selling products online. For this reason millions of websites have popped up all over the internet trying to do just that. Whilst the internet does provide a chance for businesses to save money by cutting down on wages, many websites struggle to get the right volume of hits in order to kick start their website sales. What these businesses need to do is advertise their websites more effectively to increase awareness and hopefully generate more activity on the site.

If you’re looking to advertise your website online without spending a fortune then pixel advertising could be the solution you need. Pixel advertising is a cheap, effective and modern way to put your brand name, company logo or product information on a website than can direct traffic to your own website. Pixel websites display the advert you pay for on their website in the form of a link so anybody visiting the site who views your advert can be directed to your own site. Advertising in this way is not ludicrously expensive and pixel adverts can be bought for as little as ten pounds on many UK sites.

Adverts are usually charged per pixel, for example a ten pixel display may cost ten pound on a site that charges one pound per pixel. Adverts will appeal to smaller companies looking to keep expenditure on advertising to a minimum. Pixel advertising provides a cost-effective and modern alternative to the more orthodox and lucrative schemes such as T.V, Radio and Newspapers. In order to gauge the potential of such schemes one need only look to the success of people like Alex Tew and his website ‘million dollar homepage’. Pixel advertising may well be the future of web advertising and with the initial success of the idea catching on, now may well be the ideal time to invest in pixel advertising before costs shoot up.

Whilst a website is a great way to sell products, the website will only be successful if people are aware of its existence and the site is generating a lot of interest. In order to generate this interest pixel advertising is a great solution as the sites direct traffic to your website. Pixel Advertising is relatively inexpensive and appeals to small or start-up businesses as there are very little or no costs involved in setting up an account and you just pay for the size of the ad you want, in the position that you want it. Couldn’t be simpler!

Why Chose Pixels?

Monday, January 24th, 2011

There’s a new phenomenon on the Internet – one that you may not have heard of before. It’s called pixel advertising.

Pixel advertising is just what it sounds like. You purchase pixels, instead of text or banner links on a website. For most pixel sites, you are free to choose from 100 pixels all the way to a million.

The pixel sites work like this. The site has 10 pixel by 10 pixel squares across the page. These squares make up a nice little grid. Each square, then, is for sale. You can combine these squares to make a bigger impression.

To purchase a square, you’ll need to know the size you want to purchase, and you should have a graphic pre-made for your selection. If you want a default square, you’d make a 10 pixel by 10 pixel graphic. Granted, not much is going to fit into that little square, but if you get prime placement, you may be able to get away with it.

The amount of pixel advertising websites is also becoming more widespread, which is driving down prices. While the very first sites were charging a dollar a pixel, it is not unusual to see pricing as low as ten cents a pixel (or ten dollars per square) now.

These sites also do some good for their advertisers. If they are popular enough, the links provided will drive more traffic to their websites. If they are paying a fairly low price for their box, they are probably getting a good amount of traffic. This traffic, hopefully, leads to higher revenue for the advertisers.

While pixel advertising is definitely not here to stay, we should all enjoy the ride. These sites make it easy and affordable for advertisers to get one-way backlinks that they need, and they drive more traffic to their site for a minimal cost.

What is a pixel.

Monday, January 10th, 2011

What is a pixel? Well, first, a pixel is short for pixel element. It is a single point in a graphic image. Pictures are displayed on graphics monitors by dividing the display screen into thousands (or even millions) of pixels that are arranged in columns and rows. Being they are so close together, the pixels appear to be connected.

Now, the number of bits used to represent every pixel will determine how many colours or shades of grey can be seen or displayed. On a colour monitor, a pixel is actually made up of three little dots-one red, one blue, and one green. The three dots should all converge at the same point, but monitors are not perfect and some will have a convergence error that will make pixels look fuzzy.

Of course, a display system of good quality depends a lot on its resolution or how many pixels it can display and at the same time, how many bits will be used to represent each of those pixels. These displays can range from 300,000 pixels to 480,000 pixels. It is possible to find systems that can display more than 16 million different colours!

So, the concept is really very simple. The main pixel ad page will consist of a 1000×1000 pixel grid or one million pixels. You are able to buy one or more of 10×10 pixels blocks, and then create a tiny image, which will be displayed on one or more of these blocks. You will also choose a URL you want them to link to.

Pixel blocks are used to advertise websites, affiliate programs, blogs, friends, or anything you want on an ad by pixel site.

These pixel sites are fun, too. Since these ads by pixel sites are so cool, people will stay on them for hours on end checking them out and thereby creating a vast amount of traffic for the advertiser!

So, where does it go from here? Actually, there are thousands of possibilities out there that could capture the attention of both the media and the public. And as always, there will be something or someone to kick things off and start the rest of the world thinking differently. If you haven’t already, perhaps you should check out Tiredmouse pixel advertising. You might be glad you did!

Pixel ads

Monday, December 13th, 2010

Pixel advertising continues to change as it evolves from a fad to a useful advertising tool for targeted markets. What started with “The Million Dollar Home Page” by Alex Tew has continued to morph into something else. Many have proclaimed that pixel advertising is dead. They state that it was a fad and nothing more.

Now it is definitely true that as soon as people saw Alex Tew making an easy million dollars they all wanted to make some easy money too. This created an instant wave of copycat sites trying to capitalize on the very trendy concept of throwing up a pixel page and hoping people would respond to it just like they did with The Million Dollar Home Page.

Of course, this was not to be the case. Alex Tew was the inventor and with his fresh idea came the reward. But, it was not as easy for the followers and copycats. Many of these sites have come and gone with little to no fanfare.

What is interesting to see now is that many people have taken this creative concept and adapted it to specific niches. For example, someone trying to raise funds for a worthy cause can use a pixel site to help generate income in a unique and fun way.

Other people have created pixel sites that are targeted at specific markets where people with common interests can advertise and find resources for the subject of their interest.

Instead of pixel sites dying out completely as some have suggested, new pixel sites are sprouting up daily capitalizing on this unique way of generating interest, income and advertising possibilities across a broad spectrum of industries and ideas.

Is pixel advertising dead? No, it is definitely not dead, but rather is adapting to the current landscape and carving out a unique way of driving traffic and helping raise funds for different types of organizations around the globe.

Using Pixel Ads.

Pixel Ads, What are they and why do you want one?

They’re catchy… they’re hip… they’re just flat compelling!

Pixel ads are tiny (10 x 10) ads delivered on high content
web sites.

attention. It’s just plain irresistible.

When the viewer moves his mouse to the icon, your
ad jumps out, grabbing his complete attention.

There’s only one thing left to do… Click!

new and creative thought.

You get 10 x 10 pixels of space to grab your viewer’s attention,
captivate their curiosity, and compel them to action.

Pretty tall order!

Actually it’s easy as 1, 2, 3.

1. Find the right pixel ad provider.

**Here are 5 things to consider when selecting your pixel ad service.

**List size, can they get your ad in front of millions of eyeballs?

**Do they have the server resources? “Banwidth limit exceeded” doesn’t make you any money.

**Can you call on your ad service for help?

**What kind of experience does your ad service have in the industry? Are they professionals?

**Will you have access to your stats? You want to know your ad is working for you.

2. Create your icon.

Use the dominant colour of your web site.

Keep your icon as simple and crisp as possible.

Generally reducing an existing logo is not acceptable.

3. Captivate your viewer with a catchy slogan

50 characters to pique your reader’s curiosity and
move them to action.

Use short description words and strong action type
verbs. Your only goal is get your viewer to click on
your ad.
